ASSOCIATION OF ASYMPTOMATIC BACTERIURIA AND PRE ECLAMPSIA IN EL SHATBY UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Background: Asymptomatic bacteriuria is defined as thepresence of significant bacteriuria>105 colony formingunits (cfu)/mL without the symptoms an acute urinarytract infection. Pre-eclampsia by blood pressureof greater than 140/90 mmHg after 20th week pregnancy and proteinuria equal to or higher 300 mg per24 hours.Objective: Detecting incidence asymptomatic among study group at El shatby antenatal care clinic investigate association between development ofPE presence ASB.Subjective: The included 80 pregnant women.Quantitative culture remains gold standard for diagnosis urinary tract infection in pregnancy,Microscopic examination a wet film uncentrifuged urinewas carried out detect pyuria, whichis considered when pus cells are >5 / HPF.Amount urine (1 μl) inoculated on MacConkeyagar,blood agar sabouraud dextrose plates. Theplates incubated 24-48 hours 37°C. After incubation, count pure single organism performed >105 (cfu/ml).Results: net result our showed that patients were screened theincidence was 30%. bacteruria morecommon preeclamptic (37%) control < br />(22%) but with no difference.Conclusion: commonfinding women ( 30% ofwhole cases).
